Nouar de Barpentin is a French variety that may be considered synonymous with Violet du Soleil and Bourgast Noir.

It is an excellent alternative to black Madeira figs for growers with short growing seasons or low rainfall,

as it has a very similar flavor but overcomes the problems of black Madeira figs.

Tin Noir de Barpentin has a rich, deep, complex, and intense berry flavor.

It features notes of strawberry, caramel, and molasses,

setting it apart from other fig varieties that lack this depth and complexity.

It is a wonderful fig that deserves more attention and appreciation,

and it does not require pollination.
